Our newest release comes to us from the Idido washing station located in the Yirgachette region of Sidama, Ethiopia. Yirgacheffe is a region with a long history of coffee, being one of the places coffee first began being grown, now it is known for producing some of the most spectacular coffees on the planet. The altitude, soil, and distinctive rainy and dry seasons all go together to make it the perfect place for growing outstanding coffees.

In Ethiopia, most coffee is grown by smallholders, farmers with just a small plot of land next to their home that produce 1-2 coffee sacs a year. These smallholders then bring their freshly picked cherries to the nearest washing station and are paid for the weight of their harvest. At Idido, the cherries begin by being hand sorted to make sure only fresh, ripe cherries are used. They are then cleaned and spread across raised beds to dry under the close monitoring of station staff, ensuring a quality process.

The result is an incredibly delicious and unique example of a classic high-quality, naturally processed Ethiopian coffee. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
