This coffee comes from the Gigesa washing station in Shakiso, Guji, produced by Small Lot Holders and processed naturally to highlight the region’s distinctive terroir. Expect lots of florals, pronounced sweetness, and a dynamic, expressive cup.
This coffee is part of our rotational Curious lineup, where we share standout lots that reflect both origin and seasonality. These releases allow us to highlight coffees at their peak—offering a snapshot of place, process, and producer—while celebrating the diversity of flavours found across the coffee-growing world.
This lot is produced using Local Heirloom varieties, naturally processed to preserve sweetness and enhance complexity. In the cup, expect ripe stone fruit sweetness, black tea florals, and a juicy, berry-like acidity that carries through the finish. The result is a coffee that feels vibrant yet balanced, with layers that unfold as it cools.

Our favourite quality about Gigesa (and Ethiopian coffees in general) is how unmistakable and distinct they are. The profile is immediately recognizable - a perfectly clean cup, floral aromatics and stone fruit and citrus acidity. Coffees from the Gigesa washing station are a fantastic representation of this terroir. This lot in particular is brimming with ripe fruits and a juicy structure.
