From the very beginning of Timbertrain, we knew we didn’t want our coffee to live only within the walls of our cafes.
When we first stepped into the coffee world 12 years ago, we had no prior café experience and very few expectations. It didn’t take long to realize that simply waiting for customers to find us wasn’t enough—especially in a competitive market and as a small business without the resources for large-scale marketing. We knew we would need to be adventurous and courageous, stepping beyond our comfort zone to connect with people and earn their trust through personal, face-to-face interactions.
We had to rethink how we showed up. Instead of waiting people to come to Timbertrain, we decided to bring the Timbertrain experience to them. This was when we began modelling our approach on the catering business—but with a focus on coffee service.
At the time, there wasn’t much information out there about mobile coffee cart catering. There was no roadmap, and the learning curve was steep. We took a very hands-on approach, spending countless hours building and launching our first mobile coffee cart from the ground up. It was equal parts exciting and challenging, and it taught us a lot about what it means to operate outside the comfort of a traditional cafe setting.
Thankfully, people believed in what we were trying to do. Over the past 12 years, we’ve been perfecting the art of coffee on the move—creating experiences that fit our customers, not the other way around. From weddings and sports tournaments to product launches and large conferences, we bring coffee wherever it’s needed. We’ve even set up permanent cafés for high-profile corporate clients, serving coffee daily right on their premises—something we never imagined doing when we started. Along the way, we built strong relationships with local brands, some of which are now recognized globally, and were invited into their spaces to do what we love and connect with many different people.

Looking back, the journey hasn’t always been easy. There were plenty of challenges and moments of uncertainty, but the rewards have been deeply meaningful. Along the way, we’ve met countless people, built lasting relationships, and become part of a broader community we truly value. It’s reminded us not to stay in our own bubble—and to keep growing through action, curiosity, and connection. We’re deeply grateful for everything we’ve learned and for the chance to bring the Timbertrain experience directly to our customers’ doorsteps.
